Last week we saw an artist working on a big mural at the corner of Walton and Taylor in southwest Deep Ellum. This week we swung by and saw the completed work.

This one includes lots of Dallas imagery with an artful nod to the pharmaceutical work inside the building - Google says this building houses the Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company. This is a big, colorful mural by @michaelmcpheeters - check it out!

This colorful mural spans the entire side of a building and contains iconic symbols associated with Dallas, Texas. From left to right the images depict the Dallas skyline silhouetted against a bright orange sunset, a scientist wearing a lab coat, Pegasus, the Traveling Man, and a sprig of bluebonnets. Interspersed among these icons are images of 3 dogs, a child, butterflies and chemical molecules.

Just north of this building on Walton but before you get to Canton, are a couple of playful, interesting works.

This mural features a silhouetted maverick horse in fighting pose centered upon a bright yellow wooden garage door. A small "no parking" sign hangs above the door and displays the meme "The last car that parked here is still missing." The mural is framed by the building's wall of bright red cinderblocks.
Someone has a sense of humor (or maybe not!) Check out the sign above the door.
This 2-part mural depicts a "Bart Simpson" type character in two poses painted on the display windows of a former retail shop. On the left, the character, dressed in a white t-shirt, jeans, and a baggy red shirt, holds a "boombox" overhead. To either side of the character are two large red hearts; each bears a message: "say yes" and "say no" respectively. The second window mural displays the character, dressed in a knight's costume, embracing and kissing his girlfriend. The girl is wearing a green dress with accessory brown wings, and a pink hat with rabbit ears. A symbolic crest has been placed to the upper left of this mural, on the corner of the building; it identifies the artist's guild "Pannek".
