Gone to Main - Sunday 13

The last post in our Month of Sundays project ended in the vicinity of Easy Slider and Emporium Pies at the intersection of Main and Pryor. Today we continue down the north side of Main toward Malcolm X Boulevard.

Headed east on Main on the north side of the street there's not much to see muralwise until you come the courtyard for Harlowe MXM between Crowdus and Malcolm X.

You see a depiction of guitar player Dakota Smith by Joe Iurato there to the left of the entrance. On the right side of the entrance around the corner is an image of Leon Bridges, also by Joe Iurato.

On entering the courtyard directly ahead, you'll see "Sonny Boy" playing a Hohner harmonica (yes, there's that much detail), another work by Joe Iurato.

We walked into the courtyard to take a closer look, and found this colorful "Upside Down Garden 2020" by Kelsey Montague (link) on the side of Harlowe MXM.

To the left of the garden is a breezeway that has another Joe Iurato work on the wall, a portrait of Lightning J. Hopkins.

Outside in the main courtyard opposite the garden are two untitled works by Leon Keer, another Goldman Global Arts artist, framing the courtyard entrance to Olivella's Pizza.

There are MANY more murals to be seen on the south side on this stretch of Main, and we'll catch some of those in our next post.
