Austin, TX - Barton Springs Road, 2015
I loved Austin. We visited many times starting in the mid 1990's and moved there for a few years in 2013. One thing I noticed was the abundance of neon signage in certain areas of town - there were a number of very creative neon artists working, and it was a pleasure to drive by their work at night.
One hotspot was Barton Springs Road from Riverside Drive to Barton Creek. Threadgill's Restaurant marked the east end of this stretch and had a beautiful sign with animated musical notes. A bonus was the collection of historic signs inside in the bar. Chuy's, Shady Grove, and Barton Springs Picnic anchored the western end of this stretch.

The last time I was in Austin, Threadgills's and Shady Grove had disappeared. The signs are still here in the galleries though, if you are a subscriber!
